Belle Center is located in Logan County, Ohio. It has the distinction of being a Tree City, USA due to the city's efforts in tree planting and tree care. Belle Center real estate is some of the most sought after in the Indian Lake region for its natural beauty and serene qualities.
History
During the 1840's, settlers moved into the area to develop a new town. The Mad River and Lake Erie Railroad began to plan a railroad line through the area. An ice cream stand, a bank, grocery store and other businesses are now part of the town's landscape.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village of Belle Center covers a total area of 0.71 square miles, of which, 0.70 square miles is land and 0.01 square miles is water. As of 2010, 813 people called Belle Center home including 232 families residing in the village. A total of 322 households which had 36.3% of children under the age of 18. The median age in the village was 37.2 years with a median income of $45,486,which makes this a great, affordable location to own Belle Center homes.
Community
The village of Belle Center is located near State Routes 68 and 33. The closest highway is Interstate 75. Within Belle Center, there is one doctor's office with Mary Rutan Hospital located in nearby Bellefontaine. Schools
Elementary School
Children who live within Belle Center homes attend Indian Lake Elementary School which serves grades K-4. Middle School
Students in the Indian Lake area attend Indian Lake Middle School. Grades 5-8 attend with approximately 600 students. Many clubs are available including clubs, sports, arts, games and other activities. The environment is dedicated to safety and success of each student.
High School
Grades 9-12 are served at Indian Lake High School. Approximately 523 students attend this school. The school sponsors many athletic activities including football, soccer, track and field, cross country, bowling, baseball, wrestling and other programs including music and arts such as Concert Choir, Show Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
Activities
The downtown area includes restaurants, a grocery store and other small shops. The lake and camping round out amazing opportunities available to families looking at purchasing Belle Center real estate with nearby campgrounds, golf courses and historic caverns within a short distance.
